appy Thanksgiving everyone!
What are you most thankful to God for this year? Is it your friends? Your family? Your significant other?
For me, I am thankful to God for many things. And it is in this moment that I choose to give Him praise.
~”In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”~1 Thessalonians 5:18, KJV~
I am most thankful to God for my health. My health is not something that I take for granted because I know that God is the Sustainer of my health.
I have been through many battles with my health. Most of these battles that I have been through have had to do with my mental health, because I struggle with a mental illness known as Bi-Polar Disorder.
Sometimes, I question God as to why He would allow for me to struggle with Bi-Polar Disorder. I even get angry and defensive with God and ask Him at times, “If you loved me, then why would You allow for me to struggle with this mental illness,” amongst other questions I have asked God in the past.
As I have prayed about it, the Holy Spirit of God revealed to me that one of the reasons that He allows for me to struggle with Bi-Polar Disorder is because He is testing me to give thanks to Him. Child of God: Bi-Polar Disorder is something I struggle with because God uses it for His glory as I choose to give thanks to Him for His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
As I have prayed about it, the Holy Spirit of God revealed to me that one of the reasons that He allows for me to struggle with Bi-Polar Disorder is because He is testing me to give thanks to Him.
~” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” ~John 3:16, KJV~
Jesus died for me and my sins. He also died for me and my Bi-Polar Disorder. And it is for this reason that I choose to give Him thanks, in the midst of the circumstances surrounding my Bi-Polar Disorder. The Lord uses my Bi-Polar Disorder for His good, my good, and for His glory as I give Him, His Son, and His Holy Spirit thanks.
~” And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” ~Romans 8:28, NIV~
Child of God: I want you to know that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you and and health. He died for you and your sins. He died for you and your friends and family. Jesus died for you so that You can give Him thanks this Thanksgiving season.
So, today: Give the Lord God thanks in all circumstances and be thankful. God bless you!
