The Truth Set Me Free

Remember that the Truth that is God's Word Sets You Free Today!

This past Sunday was my fourth Sunday back at church since the Coronavirus pandemic began in March 2020.

I greeted for two Sundays in a row, with this past Sunday being the second Sunday that I greeted since my church, First Baptist Church of Atlanta, reopened. I greeted on Easter Sunday (April 4th, 2021), and I greeted on April 11th, 2021. For me, greeting at FBA brings me joy so that I can prepare the hearts and minds of God’s people to receive the Word of God from our Pastor, Dr. Anthony George.

Even though Dr. Stanley stepped down this past year because of God’s leading, I still enjoy listening to and hearing Dr. George preach every Sunday. The message this past Sunday struck my heart to the core.

~”Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ~John 8:32,NIV~

One of the main points of Dr. George’s message that really hit home for me was that he peached on the truth. For followers of Jesus, knowing the truth is so important as knowing the truth sets children of God free from sins that they could be struggling with in their walk with God. Some of these sins include lust, greed, selfishness, theft, and other sins.

One point that Dr. George made that really stuck out to me was that Satan likes to paint lies with nuggets of truth. This makes these lies more appealable to the human eye and even tempts the follower of Jesus to sin.

~”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” ~John 1:1, NIV~

I was recently tempted to sin because of a truth that appeared pleasing to my eyes all the while this certain truth was hiding many lies. I am thankful that while none of my friends in Christ convicted me of this sin that the Holy Spirit of God convicted me of this sin: for falling for lies instead of the Truth that is the Word of God.

From this day on, I walk in the Truth. I walk in the Truth that is the Word of God and stand by the Truth because the Truth that is the Word of God sets me free! Indeed!

~”So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” ~John 8:36, NIV~

I am glad that God was able to use one of Dr. George’s most recent sermons so speak to me as well as to countless other people in need of hearing the Truth that is the Word of God.

Here’s to Dr. George for delivering the message of God from an on-time God to His people! Blessings to the people of God, including myself, for receiving the message from Dr. George! Glory to God for bringing FBA slowly back to church! Hallelujah!
