thank God for peace. I thank God for His peace that is found through His Son, Jesus Christ.
~”I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”~John 16:33, ESV~
This peace that is found in Jesus Christ gives me a renewed sense of hope. This peace gives me a sense of hope for the world and those who inhabit it. This peace gives me hope that is found in the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This peace that is found in Jesus Christ gives me a renewed sense of hope.
I pray that everyone, who reads this article, will find peace of God through His Son today. You may be reading this article and wonder how one can find peace of God, especially during this time of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The way that God gives us His peace differs from son to daughter and from daughter to son of God. God speaks to us in different ways and the way that He speaks to all of us through His Holy Spirit is different. He even makes the way that He speaks to us very personal while providing us with this peace at the same time.
A couple of months ago, the Lord spoke to me concerning my relationship with my mother. My mother, who has a diagnosed mental illness, was manipulating me in various ways by distracting me from my relationship with God. This was largely because of circumstances surrounding her mental illness, which took the peace of God away from me and stealing my peace. It was in that moment that the Lord spoke these words to me: “Deny yourself of your mother and follow me.”
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”~Matthew 10:37-38, NIV~
I told one of my friends about what the Lord spoke to me. Her response was the following: “I love how God speaks to us so personally.”
It was after this moment that I set boundaries with my mother. We still have a relationship. I just set strict boundaries with her so that I can maintain my relationship with Jesus Christ as my first priority. I thank God for surrounding me with friends in Christ, who can keep me accountable as I seek after the Lord and His peace!

~”And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”~Philippians 4:8-9, NLT~
The more that I fix my thoughts on Christ, then the peace of God becomes my portion. As the peace of God becomes my portion, then the joy of the Lord becomes my strength! May the Peace of God become your portion today. Amen!
